VBeta ("we", "our", or "us") is a climbing analysis app for iOS. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it is handled.

What we collect

• Account information — your display name, email address, and user ID, collected when you sign in via Google or email through Firebase Authentication.
• Subscription status — your subscription tier (free, weekly, or unlimited) and purchase history, used to enforce usage limits.
• Analysis usage count — a count of how many analyses you have performed, stored on our server to enforce your plan's quota.
• Analytics data — app usage events (e.g. screens visited, features used) collected via Google Analytics for Firebase. This data is used to understand how users interact with the app and to improve it. It does not include your climbing videos or pose data.

What we do NOT collect

• Your climbing videos — videos you import are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
• Pose or movement data — all skeleton extraction and movement analysis runs on-device. No pose data leaves your phone.
• Location data — we do not request or collect your location.
• Camera access — we do not access your camera. You import videos from your photo library only.

How we use your data

Your account information is used to identify your account and associate it with your subscription tier. Analytics data is used solely to understand app usage patterns and improve the service. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.

Third-party services

• Firebase Authentication (Google) — handles sign-in and account management. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — collects anonymised app usage events to help us improve the app. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple StoreKit — handles in-app purchases. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us — we will remove your account and all associated server-side data within 30 days.

Children

VBeta is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
